High School Program

• For SSC-R Elementary Graduates

A. Graduates from the SSC-R Elementary Department are exempted from taking entrance examinations. Howerver, they have to follow the proper procedure for reservation and enrollment.

B. Requirements for reservation to be submitted to the High School Guidance Center (only those who submit complete requirements will be reserved)

1. Accomplished application form (forms are available at the HS Guidance Center).
2. Photocopy of report card, if reservation is made prior to release of card before April 10.
3. Original copy of report card should be submitted upon its release. Pupils with "red marks" shall submit a letter of reccomendation from the principak and shall be placed under academic and/or disciplinary probation.
4. Certification of good moral character from the Principal, Guidance Counselor, or grade six adviser.
5. Medical Certificate
6. Latest ID picture (4 copies, 1x1)

Applicants who fails to submit the above requirements particularly the original copy of the report card may be reserved if she/he pays a refundable deposit of P1,000.00 within the reservation period. This amount will be deducted from the student's initial payment upon enrollment. No refunds will be issued after the registration period set for SSC Elementary graduates.

• For Freshmen Applicants and Transferees

A.Present and submit the following requirements to the Office of the Principal. The applicant and parent/s should get ready for preliminary interview by the Principal or an authorized representative.

1. Photcopy of report card, if application is done before graduation from elementary.
2. Original Copy of report card, if application is done after graduation from elementary.
3. No failing grade in any of the grading
4. Average in the first three quarters should atleast be 80%.
5. Photocopies of birth and baptismal certificates (original copies must also be presented).
6. Medical Certificate
7. Certification of good moral character from the Principal, Guidance Counselor, or grade six adviser.
8. Latest ID picture (4 copies, 1x1)

                 N.B. Requirements 5-8 are to be submitted when the applicant passes screening procedure.

Academic Scholarship

• Honor SSC-R elementary graduates (valedictorian, salutatorian, and 1st honorable mention) will be awarded scholarshipwith corresponding discounts on tuition fee only.

                                   Valedictorian - 100%ranks  -    100%
                                   Salutatorian - 50%ranks  -    50%
                                   First Honorable Mention -       25%

• Honor students (valedictorian, salutatorian, and 1st honorable mention) graduating with a batch of not less than 50 students from a duly recognized elementary school and recommended by their principal will be awarded tuition scholarship test that will determine the ten (10) most qualified scholars.

                                   Three (3) 100% - 1st to 3rd ranks  -       100%
                                   Four (4) 50% - 4th to 7th ranks  -       50%
                                   Three (3) 25% - 8th to 10th ranks  -       25%

• The top three (3) resident students (based on their obtained honors/ranks) in their respective years (1st,2nd,3rd years) will be awarded scholarship with correspnding discounts on tuition fee only. (Maximum of 9 students).

      A. Discounts in Tuition Fee

         1. Discounts for Brothers and Sisters
                Tuition fee discounts are granted to brother and sisters studying ar SSC-R (in the same                 educational level).

                                   Two brothers/ sisters  -       2nd gets 10% discount
                                   Three brothers/ sisters  -       3rd gets 30% discount
                                   Four brothers/ sisters  -       4th gets 75% discount
                                   Five brothers/ sisters  -       5th gets 100% discount
                                                                        -          6th gets 100% discount
                                   Seven brothers/ sisters  -       6th and 7th gets 100% discount

         2. Discounts of Children of Faculty and Employees

           Children of:
              a. Permanent Faculty Members and Permanent School Employee
                                   1st Child  -       100%
                                   2nd Child  -       75%
                                   3rd Child  -       50%
                                   4th Child  -       25%
                                   5th Child  -       pay in full

              b. Full- Time Faculty Members (full- time as provided for in the DepEd Manula of Regulations for Private               Schools, 8th Edition, 1992, Section 45) after two years of service in SSC-R.

              c. Full- Time unmarried Faculty Members after 7 years of service in SSC-R.
                                   One dependent  -       100%

              d. Part - time Faculty Members who have thaught at SSC-R for two consecutive years with load not               less than 12 units/semestral in College of 10 hours per week in High School or Elementary as the case                  may be:
                                   1st Child  -       50%
                                   2nd Child  -       25%

      B. Grants for Athletes of SSC-R

     High School Athletes whose names are in the official list of the NCAA line-up and athletes who may represent the Philippines in the International athletic competition are granted tuition fee discount of 100%. The school may grant exemption from miscelleneous fees(Hgh School and College) to champion teams of any event and to other individual gold medalist upon the recommendation of the Athletic Moderator to the Director of Scholarship. The rest of the athletes shall pay 25% of the miscellleneous fees. Some reserved players for the Junior Basketball Teams may be allowed with atleast 50% or 100% discount on tuition and miscelleneous fees depending on the recommendation of the Athletic Moderator to the Director of Scholarship.



       

Quarterly Academic Awards

       Every quarter, the school gives a Certificate of Recognition to students who have achieved excellence in their studies based on the recommendation of the Committee on Honors and Awards. Best in Academics Certificates are awarded to the top ten (10) students by year level and to the topnotcher per section. Best in Religion and Conduct Certificates are awarded to the over - all topnotcher by year level and to the topnotcher per section.

      

Year - End Academic Honors and Awards

1. The designation "valedictorian", "salutatorian", and "honorable mention" shall apply to graduating honor students.
2. There shall be one valedictorian and one salutatorian for all graduating classes. However, in case of a tie between two candidates, both may be declared valedictorians or salutatorians.
3. The number of students to be declared honorable mention in a secondary school shall be one percent (1%) of the total number of graduating students.
4. The following criteria and the corresponding relative weights shall be used in determining the valedictorian, salutatorian and honorable mention awards.

• Academic Excellence                                                          -seven (7) points

       Academic Excellence shall be based on the general average of the graduating of the students in the last two years (third and fourth) of schooling. The final grades in the fourth year should be completed before the last three weeks of the school year, and should be based on the work done during the last grading period.
      

• Performance in Co - Curricular Activities                               -three (3) points

       Performance shall cover the achievements of the candidaates for the last two years, including active participation in authorized organizations or clubs, literary, musical activities, athletics (school, provincial, city, regional, national and international levels), awards in relation to school work, civic activities, membership in the barangay, researches, and other outstanding awards in athletics, school paper, nad school band. The rating shall be based on the combined assesment of all the third and fourth year teachers of the candidates.

      5. Ranking of the students for honor shall be based on the total weighted ranks of their academic and co-             curricular performance.

      

Year - End Co- Curricular Awards

1. Activity honors are given at the end of every school year.
2. There is only one honors certificate or medal per club/organization. If the club/ organization has several sub-units (e.g teams,scout troop, etc.) there will be one honors certificate per unit if there are qualified members of such honors.
3. A student may recieve only one honors certificate during the school year to allow more students to get it during the school year.
4. At the end of the 4th year, over all awards are given to deserving undergraduates and graduating students.
5. The criteria for the activity honors are:

• attendance record
• interest and active participation in the activities/ sessions of the club
• leadership qualities
• all passing marks in the different subject areas

1. There shall be four grading periods using the cumulative method. This means that the final grades for second to the fourth grading periods are computed such that the previous grade shall be given weight of 30% and the tentative grade shall be 70% of the grade for the period.

           Example: Grade for first grading period - 85%
           Tentative grade for the second grading period - 87%

                                 30% of 85% = 25.50%
                                 + 70% of 87% = 60.90%
                                 Computed Grade = 86.40%

           Therefore, the final rating for the second grading period is 86%.

2. The numerical system of grading shall be used and grades shall be expressed in multiples of ones.

3. The passing grade in any given subject shall be 75%. The lowest grade that can be given to a student after transmutation of performance shall be seventy (70%) percent for the 1st to 3rd quarters and sixty five (65%) for the 4th quarters..

4. Promotion shall be by subject and by the number of units. In this case, a student who fails in
three units or less is promoted to the next year level provided he/she takes summer classes. On the other hand, a student who fails in more than 3 units is retained in the year level for one school year.

• Science Laboratories     -   The SSC-R High School Science Laboratory rooms are spacious, well- ventillated and properly lighted. Each room is properly equipped with corresponding apparatus, teacher - custodian and three working scholars. A TV set has been provided to give the students the rare experience of viewing hard - to - duplicate experiments. Exhaust fans have been installed to eliminate abnoxious gases.
• T.H.E Laboratories (Drafting, Home Economics & Electronics)     -    The Home Economics room showcases, among others, kitchen and sewing machine units that are being used to supplement stdetns with the practical learnings on home- based prodctivity.Drafting Room-Forty - five (45) reclined drawing tables and chairs, each with t- square and triangle are provided to students. Activities in the drafting laboratory room are carried in consonance with the "Career Tracking Program" of the department whereby 4th year students are guided and motivated to experience preparatory initiatives towards their chosen career in engineering or architecture. The CAD (computer aided device) for architectural drafting for example, is coordinated with the Computrer Laboratory for utilization.

• Computer Laboratory     -   Three (3) Computer Rooms are equipped with 48 computer units which are installed with latest processors and software programs such as Yapster (for English and IT instruction modules) and Genyo (for Math and Science instruction modules). The rooms are manned by a custodian who are assisted by 4 working scholars.
